Byron Powdrell
"Huggy The Entertainer"
Born and raised in
Albuquerque, I have had the pleasure meeting many famous people through the
family business, Powdrell's Barbecue.
I have always had a
longing for radio, since my uncle was on Disco 89.1 KANW in the late 70's.
Most people remember
him as the Groover--to me he was like a god. So in 1983, I took a course in
broadcasting at TVI , and got a start thanks to George Welsh. Thus my love for
Old School music was strengthened when I was inducted into the crew at MEGA
95.5, and the rest is history. Because I like to Entertain.

Bobby Jones "Dj Cut"
Born in Boston, MA 1968 to a preacher dad and mom! In other words, The
Son Of A Preacher Man! I moved to Albuquerque in 1988 where I began my career in
broadcasting at a local public radio station. I am a product of forced busing in
the '70's in Boston! That's where I developed my love for music and radio. "This
man loves to eat!"

Rob Royster "Big Worm"
Born and raised in Albuquerque,
went to alb. High school (class of ?82)
Started in radio at 89.1 kanw (I
started the urban express show there on Monday nights in the early 90?s) also
worked at 97.3 kiss fm, 92.3 krst and 770 kob.
Things really took off at rhythm
driven 106.3 when they flipped to wild 106. eventually became program director.
Currently working at 93.3 kob fm
Club wise, I started at shakers,
then went to hot rocks, then down to the sunshine (when it used to be the
zone!),

"Bobby
Box"
I grew up living in Lawndale, California, a suburb of Los Angeles, in the mid
to late 50's. My summers were spent with Dad in Abilene, Texas, so I knew both
city and country life.
My first radio job was in 1962 in Buddy Holly's hometown of Lubbock. I worked in
Chattanooga, Atlanta and Austin before coming to Albuquerque in 1968. I've
worked here for most of the past 36 years, taking a brief time out to do a
morning show in Sacramento, CA and Cleveland in the 1970's. Total time away from
Albuquerque Radio = 3 years.
I'm doing exactly what I've always wanted to do - play the music I grew up
listening to and playing the music that I used to play when they were fresh
hits. My philosophy is "play what the people want to hear, not what some myopic
consultant thinks you want to hear". I work for a wonderful company and I'm very
proud to be the morning guy here at Big Oldies 98.5.
God has blessed me with a beautiful family and the greatest listeners in the
world.
I remain, your Guru of the Groove yard, Bobby Box.
